Season 16 News

SimsFilmFest Season 16 opens in just 25 days. I am trying very hard to get the things done that need to be done for the start of the season but time is not on my side. It’s hard to believe, but I ended up sicker than I was at the end of Season 15 and ended up on a few more medications short term to slap my immune system into doing it’s thing.

That’s not the big issue at the moment though. We are in the middle of buying our own house and packing to move…and I am doing it with another case of shingles. I am so glad to be getting out of this small-ass apartment (seriously, there is nothing like tripping over the furniture, the cat, the dog, and other family members on a daily basis). I have seriously spent the bulk of the 3 and a half years that we have lived here sick. I am hoping that moving into a house where we aren’t living in such close proximity to other people and their cooties, having access to the outdoors again (I could go outside here if I wanted to be creeped on by our weird drunk neighbors), and being able to sleep without being woken up every 5-10 minutes because the neighbor downstairs is training for the Door Slamming Olympics. I wish I was kidding about this. It makes me miss the guy who used to live in that apartment that played his bagpipes every weekend starting at about 5:00 am Saturday morning.

Basically, I have little time right now to get everything done that I wanted to before the start of the season. I am also going to be the only one available to do anything until sometime in August. Gus is busy is with University, Peace is off working in the middle of the Australian desert, Twist is going to be spending a semester studying abroad (she tells me she’s still going to be able to check in via email with everyone for Project Bluelight, so no worries there) and Tinkerbelch is in and out trying to get her health issues in order.

I’m asking that everyone bare with me until I am settled in the new house (yes, I am going to be moving and/or unpacking on July 1 when the season opens). It may take longer than normal to get emails answered, things on the playbill, and tickets out to everyone for the first 2 to 3 weeks. I will probably be answering most emails from my tablet so if they seem shorter and impersonal, this is why. I hate doing email on the tablet. Too many typos and weird auto-correct. We will get through this (we’ve gotten through worse).

I ask that everyone read the welcome email and the first issue of Insider Magazine. It will have all the information that is needed for the start of the season, including rule changes, information on interviews, the season calendar, and whatever else I think needs to go in there. Between this and the rules page here you should be able to get answers to all your questions.

I will also be opening up the entry form early because of this move where I don’t forget and I don’t have to worry about it. Be looking to have access to it around July 19.

If anyone has any questions about Season 16 now is the time to ask. I would prefer it be done in the comments section where everyone has access to them (and the answers).

Thanks for everyone’s understanding and patience.
~ Jorgha.

Oh, one final thing. If anyone has an idea for a Season 16 poster, send it to me. We need something by July 1.

The Sims International Film Festival was created in 2010 as a way to foster creativity in The Sims community through machinima, an art form that uses video game footage to make movies. Over the years, as new entries in The Sims franchise were released and new editing methods became available, we’ve seen a lot of changes, but one thing has remained constant: our commitment to showcasing the creativity of this community and inspiring new artists.
