Insider Magazine Update

I spent some time talking to Tinkerbelch, since she is the only other staff member around at the moment, and we’ve made a decision about Insider Magazine for the remainder of this season. I have a lot of mixed feelings about this, but we are going to go forward with our decision. Let me explain.

When the SimsFilmFest website was originally put together, Gus, Peace, and I had talked about doing away with any kind of magazine except the end of the season edition with all the winners in it and use the blog section of the site for all those things that would normally be in the magazine: the interviews, all the promo stuff, etc. Since a number of staff members are currently absent, we are going to use the rest of this season as an experiment in how that would work.

It will allow us the ease in sharing all the interviews we have set up for this season, it will give us more room for features like FilmTalk. Instead of a weekly magazine we will be able to bring you almost daily content. The website is set up to automatically post all the content to Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Google + so all promotional content will still be shared across all the socials, but it will also be a huge time saver for the two of since there is so much to do.

Starting tomorrow (Wednesday morning) we will start with the new format and the first of the planned Insider Magazine content for the week will be available.

Thanks for understanding. As always, please feel free to share your thoughts on everything. The comment section on all posts is open.

UPDATE: I forgot to mention that we will still be doing red carpet pictures, they will be incorporated into the final issue of Insider with the winners.

The Sims International Film Festival was created in 2010 as a way to foster creativity in The Sims community through machinima, an art form that uses video game footage to make movies. Over the years, as new entries in The Sims franchise were released and new editing methods became available, we’ve seen a lot of changes, but one thing has remained constant: our commitment to showcasing the creativity of this community and inspiring new artists.
