Backstage Pass: Insider Magazine and Other Updates

Everything has been a bit behind (and by a bit, I mean a lot), yet again. Allergy season illness kicked my butt yet again. Anyway, since we have an awesome staff now, I was able to teach someone the ins and outs of the website where it can be updated in my absence. I know, I know, it’s about time. Please check the playbill to make sure we have everything correct and we’re not missing anything.

Now, on to Insider magazine. We have decided that we are going to do two issues a season. The first being the issue that has all the information in it that is needed for the season and the second will be the issue with the winners in it. Everything else that you would normally find in the magazine will be on the website, this means interviews and magazine columns like FilmTalk and Fanboy/Fangirl. Sadly, there isn’t a big enough reader base anymore for the magazine to justify the time spent on it.

Between this season and next we have a couple new things that are currently in the works that we are looking forward to sharing with everyone so stay tuned.

The Sims International Film Festival was created in 2010 as a way to foster creativity in The Sims community through machinima, an art form that uses video game footage to make movies. Over the years, as new entries in The Sims franchise were released and new editing methods became available, we’ve seen a lot of changes, but one thing has remained constant: our commitment to showcasing the creativity of this community and inspiring new artists.
